Ayce Kyptyn has been inspiring and training young musicians for over two decades, blending deep musical expertise with a gift for mentorship. With a degree in Trombone Performance and Theology, Ayce’s teaching is as much about building confidence and creativity as it is about mastering the instrument.
Since beginning in 2000, Ayce has held positions in the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra and the Holland Symphony Orchestra, performing in both classical and contemporary repertoire at a professional level. For ten years, Ayce served as the low brass mentor for the Holland Area Youth Orchestra, guiding students through challenging works and preparing them for high-level ensemble playing. Throughout their career, Ayce has worked extensively with middle and high school students in band, orchestra, jazz, and small ensembles — fostering not just musical skill, but discipline, self-expression, and a lifelong love for the arts.
In 2022, Ayce shifted focus from working directly with youth to running a somatic sexology practice for adults, helping people land fully in their bodies and explore gender, identity, expression, and orientation. Still, music remains a lifelong passion, and Ayce loves giving back to the community by raising up local musicians and supporting the next generation. The theology degree? Let’s just say the music part stuck.
