What Makes a Slam Poem with B the Poet

In this workshop, B will dissect slam poetry performances from various accomplished poets to learn what makes a slam poem a "perfect 30." B will lead a discussion about the different aspects the judges are directed to look at when scoring slam poetry performances, and how to incorporate all of them into your own slam poem! After the videos & discussion, there will be independent writing time with an opportunity to share your first (or tenth, or revised, or old) poem with the rest of the group.

B the poet is a spoken word poet, author and poetry slam host currently residing in Denver, CO.
B has had the opportunity to travel across the country performing on national stages, teaching
workshops at various high schools, and now, hosts a monthly poetry slam at Petals and Pages of
Denver called The Lavender Mic.
