Director of Adult Programming
Monica Marie LaBonte is the Director of Adult Programming at Butterscotch Studios in Longmont, Colorado. In this role, she is expanding her teaching practice at Butterscotch while activating the collective with workshops, ensembles, jams, open stages, and more.
A passionate educator, LaBonte believes in the transformative power of music and is dedicated to helping others find their unique creative voice. With a background in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from CU Boulder, she brings extensive knowledge of the vocal and respiratory systems to her teaching. This foundation allows her to provide unique, science-based insights to students, empowering them to develop healthy vocal techniques and expand their musical potential. She has mentored countless musicians in songwriting, performance, instrument play, and voice, fostering confidence and growth in students of all levels.
An accomplished songwriter and performer, LaBonte has recorded multiple albums, sung on countless others, and was a finalist in the 2018 Songwriter Showcase at Folks Fest. She has played on stages across Colorado, including the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Pagosa Folk n Bluegrass Festival, RockyGrass, Folks Festival, eTown, and Bohemian Nights Festival.
Whether teaching, performing, or creating programs that bring people together through music, LaBonte’s work reflects her deep commitment to creativity, connection, and community.
