Helen’s first guitar came in an army-green box from Sear’s, and it looked and sounded beautiful to her at age 11. It took a while to learn to tune it, but it was well worth it, and it was the beginning of her love for guitars. Over the years, Helen has played with various groups (The Wildflowers, The High Road, Whitsel-Peterson, Barrett/Peterson) playing Americana, folk, country, gospel, and bluegrass. This has included doing lead vocals, harmonies, and playing guitar in the Boulder/Denver area.
Currently, in addition to teaching, she is in the process of writing more songs and working with friends on new performing ideas.
