Jo Durnil
(she/her)
Instructor: Voice.
Jo (she/her) is a Colorado-based musician and has been singing for over 10 years. Her love for music started when she was a little girl, listening to Pearl Jam and Fleetwood Mac with her mom. She pursued choir throughout junior high and high school where she was trained in jazz, choral, acapella, and musical theater. She also has experience with piano and guitar but singing with where her passion lies.
Jo continues to learn and sing with her mentor, who is also the person who made her want to become a teacher. Jo co-founded a Fort Collins local band called The Upstairs Basement, where she is the lead singer and songwriter. She has been in that project for 3 ½ years and continues to play shows and festivals locally. Additionally, Jo is an intern for a local venue in Fort Collins where she gets to assist with marketing and managing local musicians.
Jo is new to the teaching scene and has been teaching voice for 7 months. Music is her passion and she can’t wait to share that love with students and help them learn and grow. She wants to help you feel confident in your voice and your abilities. She believes anyone can sing with the proper training and belief in yourself. When she's not teaching you can find Jo baking, hanging out with her three cats, or singing her heart out at karaoke!
