Laura has been passionate about music for as long as she can remember. Her journey began at the age of 4 when she started playing piano, inspired by her dad’s love for ragtime. Growing up, Laura was classically trained on piano, but as a teenager, she began exploring rock and other genres, which opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

At 13, she picked up the guitar and taught herself to play. Over the years, Laura has had the privilege of studying with several accomplished local teachers, deepening her appreciation for a wide variety of styles and techniques. She believes music is a universal language and is dedicated to helping her students discover their unique voice within it.

In addition to teaching, Laura is a founding member of the band Foxfeather, a well-established and respected part of the local music scene since 2013. Alongside her wife, Sam, she co-owns Butterscotch Studios in Longmont—a creative and welcoming space that hosts lessons, workshops, and community events. Laura is deeply committed to fostering community connections through music and art.

When not at the studio, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, exploring Colorado’s great outdoors, kayaking, camping, cooking, or diving into a good book. She is excited to share her passion for music and help others embark on their own musical journeys.
