Leilani Spurlock is a Colorado-based musician, educator, and multi-faceted artist. She explores a variety of genres through performance in classical, jazz, commercial, and chamber ensembles. Leilani is a regular performer with the Jordan Kahn Music Company and University of Colorado Boulder Symphony Orchestra.
Additionally, she serves as a substitute in regional orchestras across the Front Range. Prior to her Colorado move, Leilani performed in pit orchestras with Constellation Stage and Screen and played in the Tom Walsh Jazz Ensemble.
Leilani is a passionate music educator offering private trumpet instruction, wind and marching band sectionals, and general music teaching. She has worked with students in school settings and summer camps, including CU Boulder Summer Music Academy and JCC Denver’s Camp Shai.
Leilani emphasizes the joy of music making in her lessons and helps her students develop individualized practice plans that focus on their personal goals. Leilani is finishing her master’s degree at the University of Colorado Boulder and received her bachelor’s degree at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
Outside of trumpet, Leilani is a connoisseur of hobbies: she enjoys being outside (hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding), being a cat and dog mom, doing arts and crafts, reading fantasy books, and watching mediocre TV shows.
